De nieuwe reeks noemt The Dark Artifices en dit is wat we weten:
- Het speelt zich af in Los Angeles en het institute daar.
- Het speelt zich af in 2012, dus 5 jaar na The Mortal Instruments. Op die manier komen we ook nog hier en daar wat te weten over die personages als ze 22 a 23 zijn, ofja die personages die het overleven.
- Sommige personages van TDA komen in CoLS voor. Kijk dus uit naar 12-jarigen wanneer je City of Lost Souls leest.
- Het hoofdpersonage is onder andere Emma Carstairs. Je kunt je niet inbeelden hoe blij ik ben dat het hoofdpersonage EMMA heet. Ik denk dat ik zelfs een paar vreugdedansjes heb gedaan en er zullen er nog volgen. Maar laten we niet te lang stil staan bij die naam. Ze heeft blond haar (en ja! Ik ook!) en is een kick-ass shadowhunter, zoals Cassandra zei:'Emma wants to be ‘as badass “as Jace Lightwood”’.
- Haar parabatai en co-hoofdpersonage is Julian Blackthorn. Hij heeft bruin haar en blauw-groene ogen, hij is lang en dun. Cassandra zei dit: 'I thinking of Julian as dark-haired, a little vulnerable, a painter, someone who wears all black, bites his nails and is likely to pull his sleeves down over his hands.'
- Andere personages: Mark Blackthorn (oudere half-broer van Julian), Helen (vriendin van Aline Penhallow, City of Glass), Olivia en Tiberius (tweeling), Arthur en Christina (een mexicaanse) en nog andere. Een grote familie.
- Julian is helemaal anders dan Jace en Will
- Emma heeft 'complicated feelings' voor Julian (Jep, ik zie het aankomen, parabatai die geen koppel mogen zijn en al :O)
- Het eerste boek heet momenteel Lady Midnight en wordt verwacht in 15/03/2015. Ik herhaal: 2015, 2015, 2015. Het is begrijpelijk, want Cassandra Clare begint er pas aan na de Mortal Instruments, maar toch. Dat is nog zooo lang. Hopelijk is de wereld tegen dan niet vergaan.

The first book in “The Dark Artifices” is scheduled for publication in 2015. Set against the glittering backdrop of present-day Los Angeles, the series follows
